Once again, when Malin opened his eyes, he noticed Rewo lying on his chest... it was no wonder he felt a bit stuffy. It was a headache, really, as he patted the girl on the back, and after she woke up and rubbed her eyes, only then did she notice her crumbling façade.
The girl didn’t bother to explain but flashed a sweet smile before Malin shooed her off himself.
I’ve gotten smaller again, huh?
Looking at his small hands, Malin turned his head to look at Rewo—it must have been because this silly girl was lying on top of him that Faye and the others hadn’t woken him up.
Really now, is this girl part cat? But that can’t be right either, Maya never sleeps like this.
With confusion, Malin got out of bed, put on his robe (the temperature in Carterburg was around five degrees that morning), and went downstairs with Rewo, also in her robe. He discovered that his girls were all wearing robes too, gathered around the fire, enjoying breakfast.
"Our Malin has come down. You look so adorable today, let me hold you," Nova said, reaching out her hand, but Malin knocked her down with a finger flick, "Didn’t you say we were heading to Rongma?"
"Ah, it’s the Elemental Ebb today. All spell formations are unusable," Nova explained, and that’s when Malin finally realized something was off—yes, he couldn’t sense the elements anymore.
He snapped his fingers, and the small flame flickered out instantly.
"Malin, you’re amazing. Under these circumstances, you can still gather elements; we can’t manage to gather any at all," Faye commented and then looked at Malin, "Wait, don’t tell me you didn’t know about the Elemental Ebb."
"How would I know?" Malin responded and paused for a moment, "Right, if it’s the Elemental Ebb, doesn’t that mean Chaos can’t enter this world then?"
