Steampunk Era: Mad Abield

Chapter 545 - 374: The Story of Fate (2)

Constantine Julius.

The Regensburg National Research Institute, and especially the Deep Diver Research Center that had just been established in the eastern part of the institute’s grounds, had completely fulfilled the old man’s imagination of what a librarian’s sanctuary should be.

It was truly marvelous. The Church of Justice had specifically built two purification ritual magic circles for them, and with the addition of spiritual energy, they could cleanse the returning librarians freshly from their deep dives, freeing them from the fear of contamination. This turned the Deep Diver Research Center into a holy site in the eyes of all librarians, and in order to get a chance to use it daily, they had to draw lots to determine their turn.

"Master Constantine, there’s a message from the Sage’s Association in the south of the Farol Principality," someone hurried over, "Master William has already seen it, and he said it’s an astounding discovery."

The old man raised his eyebrows—an astounding discovery, had his southern colleagues delved into the era before the Great Destruction?

To be honest, Constantine had never heard of anyone who had returned from the era before the Great Destruction. Some claimed to have been there, but upon investigation, those claims were nothing but drunken ramblings.

So, Constantine took the thick manuscript, and he noticed several marks on it.

The first was a ring symbol of five five-pointed stars—Malin’s mark. Interesting, this kid hadn’t even become a true librarian before he had already started his deep dives. What could he have discovered?

With such curiosity, the old man saw the second mark—the crest of the Mowish family. The only person who could stamp this mark on a document issued by Malin would definitely be Faye Mowish, Lady Anna’s eldest daughter, the youngest six-ring mage. It is said that she is aiming for the rank of a seven-ring mage; if successful, she would be the youngest high-order mage in the last five hundred years.

The third crest was that of Clovis... this Bunny Girl was now the Mage Tower’s most sought-after grand alchemist, only a step away from becoming legendary, although many jealous people claimed her achievements were all due to the limitless acorns from the World Tree Sapling.

But how could Constantine not understand that only someone as talented as Clovis could turn the World Tree’s acorns into potions rather than piles of dregs?
