Steampunk Era: Mad Abield

Chapter 539: Three hundred and sixty-nine: The Old Days (Part 5)

On the rooftop, the gryphons refused to carry Malin again. When Jessica confirmed that Matilda had begun to run a fever, Malin once more opened the portal, then, holding Matilda, he and Jessica and Clovis entered the portal together.

"Such a situation has never occurred before, Lord Malin. My old assault team didn’t have an orc either." Dante followed, his face full of anxiety, "Damn it, having heard all you said, those zombies were actually weapons manufactured by the old world..."

"I personally suggest that you keep this secret to yourself, and also, could you contact the Churches in the Eastern Region for me? Ask them for a cure for the undead poison. Matilda’s initial condition was very bad, I’m afraid she won’t live long." Malin looked at Dante, who agreed immediately, then went to the local Church of Justice, deciding to make inquiries through the Church channels.

Malin asked Jessica to go home and call Faye and the others, then he went to the Church of Justice with Clovis, taking Matilda with them.

Soon, a wizard who had been with Malin before was found. He was a commoner from the Eastern Kingdom, and also a bear person. When he arrived, Malin almost didn’t recognize him—the bear person seemed to be completely furless, totally different from those he had seen in Parol City before.

Then he learned that this bear person had originally been poisoned by the zombies. Surviving the great disaster, he had accidentally triggered his Spiritual Energy, but because of his low Elemental Affinity, he could only take the risky path to become a wizard. He was among the second batch of wizards to flee, and was now no longer a wizard. Having the gift of Spiritual Energy, he was chosen by Maya’s mentor as her new apprentice—Maya now had a little junior.

Though it was hard to say this guy was little, compared with his kind, he could be considered small and thin.

"Mr. Malin, I fell into a coma within the first hour after being poisoned, and it wasn’t until five days later that I miraculously woke up, whereas Lady Matilda still has a clear consciousness. I believe it must be that the potion delayed and reduced the effects of the undead poison."

"See, I’m definitely fine." Matilda proudly patted her chest, "Mr. Malin, don’t worry about me."
