Chapter 537 - 368: Old Days (Part 4)
"Seventeen, we’ve got trouble,"
Malin led his people up to the third floor, and as they passed room seventeen, he spoke in a casual tone—as if the well-equipped Seventeen with the ability to make logical judgments should be aware of what living beings like them were facing.
Malin’s assessment was correct, and the armor humanized graciously nodded: "Failure experiment subjects confirmed, based on the Rights and Protection Act, I will open the passage upstairs. Please proceed through the corridor, I will hold back the failure experiment subjects for you."
"Failure experiment subjects?" Malin let Dante lead the way, then stood beside Seventeen, questioning, "Why are they called failure experiment subjects?"
"The first embryo of the failure experiment subjects originated from the Vahningen military base. You can find information about them in the computer documents upstairs. I’m responsible for safeguarding these secrets... please leave quickly, citizen, the failure experiment subjects are on their way up."
"Goodbye, Seventeen." Malin saw the zombies appear at the corner of the stairs. As he retreated, he fired two short bursts, hitting the zombies in their legs and abdomen. As they fell, they also blocked the pursuit of those behind them.
Malin hastened his step, noticing more and more slender long arms extending from the outside of the handrail.
As he ran, Malin pulled out another fire grenade, removed the pin, and tossed it behind him.
Illuminated aberrant zombies reached out from behind the railing. One opened its mouth to Malin, revealing twisted, sharp fangs.
