"You’re our Savior! Whoever betrays you, I will be the demon avenging you!" Liu Jin pulls out a checkbook, writes a string of numbers in it, and tosses it over to Engma, "Triple the price, I’ll pay it myself, Engma. Can you get another crate from the Dwarves? If you can, just wrap up the rest and give us this crate."
"I can try. I’m a regular at the Dwarf workshop; if they ask, I can say I need it for fishing." Engma nods and smiles at his co-conspirators, "I’m starting to feel confident, everyone."
"I’ll cover the cost of this crate. If two crates can’t take him down, then I’ll accept my fate!" Cohen grits his teeth.
"I feel the same. I’ve got an old revolver, the very old-fashioned kind with no registration or serial number. Who’s got the best shot?" Cassie looks around at the others.
"I’m quite good with guns," the Zhao family kid raises his hand.
"Then I’ll give the piece to you when the time comes, make sure you shoot accurately," Cassie says.
"Don’t worry, ever since I learned how to shoot, I’ve never missed a fifty-meter target," the Zhao family kid says and looks at Cohen, "In that case, we need to adjust our plans a bit. We have to set up the fishing gear in advance, and the guns need to be calibrated. Plus, we must find a suitable place for an ambush. So, could you delay your operation by two days? Otherwise, we won’t have enough time."
"No problem, my cousin’s injured, and I can use the excuse that I want to make it up to him and then have a legitimate reason to hang around in The Capital for two more days. Anyway, there’s half a month left until the trial’s deadline, I can wait for two days." Cohen says and looks at Engma, "You’ll be coming too this time. Try to gauge Malin’s character and temperament, so we can deal with him effectively."
"No problem, it looks like we’ve already won," Engma finally smiles, "I had lost all hope before."
"I felt the same. Anyone who encounters such a monster would be in despair."
