"I brought my own buddy," said the man as he moved towards the back of the car, while Jessica had already taken out his case.

Then Jiaxi opened the case and took out a short-barrelled rifle made of half-metal... and then inserted a magazine.

"A short-barrel semi-automatic rifle, where did you get that from?"

"It’s a prototype gun just successfully tested by a subsidiary of the Special Operations Division, given to us field guys to try out. Those generals always say, letting the soldiers use these things is like having them waste bullets," the young man laughed and added, "Those old farts older than my grandfather don’t know shit."

"Suppressing the enemy with the firepower in a unit time is the correct way to use what’s in your hand," Malin said as he caught the shotgun Jessica tossed to him.

"Right, I can hit the target fifty meters away with these ten bullets in ten seconds," Jiaxi said, looking at Malin: "Didn’t you see the same thing from the Dwarves?"

"No, but I think this is the future direction of firearm development," Malin said seriously to Jiaxi—the history of Earth’s firearms development had made it clear to Malin that bolt-action rifles would eventually be replaced by semi-automatic and automatic ones except in some situations requiring high precision.
