Chapter 127: One hundred and five: Reunion
"You’re not dead?" The first sentence Colin said almost angered Malin to death.
But then he thought—of course not. In the space of one day and one night, he’d taken two ’flights,’ survived two ’airship disasters,’ one to the North and one back. Especially the second time, the Divine Envoy’s face had turned ghastly pale, presumably upon discovering the Evil God’s actions. By all accounts, any individual with even a smidge of normal luck would’ve died outright.
Yet not only had Malin not become a casualty, he returned to Carterburg carrying a Firearm that Chaos had used.
What was more fatal was that he appeared out of thin air in front of the Church’s entrance.
So Malin understood why Colin arrived at the gate fully armed with a group of people—given the situation, he too would have armed himself to the teeth before daring to stand at the gate.
"I’m not dead, the God of Justice brought me back here," Malin was saying when everyone saw a carriage speeding towards them. The carriage began to slow down from a distance and eventually stopped across the street. The person who jumped out of the vehicle was none other than the old Bishop from the Church of Justice, who immediately spoke upon witnessing the scene: "By the holy decree of the Lord, Malin was returned to you by Him, this child is pure and untainted."
Maya was the first to break free from the guards’ restraint and ran swiftly towards Malin, throwing herself into his arms.
The Leopard Girl didn’t cry, though tears rolled down Malin’s face, somewhat hot to the touch.
"Don’t worry, see, I’m perfectly fine," Malin said smiling as he patted his Leopard Girl sister.
Then he noticed the old Bishop approaching, handing him a badge: "The Lord acknowledges that your actions on the Northern front are commendable. Take it, you may use it to obtain discounted supplies at any Church of the Lord of Justice."
