Zain stepped into the sleek apartment, warm light glowing over polished floors and minimal, modern decor.
The scent of jasmine and something spicy drifted in the air—Savra's scent.
She glanced back over her shoulder and motioned toward the hallway.
"Bedroom's to the right," she said. "Go put your sister down."
Zain nodded and carried Zelia gently through the hallway, pushing open the bedroom door.
He laid her on the bed carefully, adjusting the pillow beneath her head.
He paused for a second—just watching her breathe.
Then he stepped back out and closed the door behind him.
Savra was leaning against the wall, arms crossed, a lazy smirk already curling her lips.
"Alright," she said.
"You've dropped the sleeping beauty. Now spill it. What the hell did you do?"
