SSS Awakening: Rebirth of the Strongest Vampire God

Chapter 277: What exactly was I lacking?

The veiled woman watched, stunned. The previous arrogance and disdain in her voice had completely disappeared as she watched Damon demolish her attack in such an outlandish way. How was this blood drinker able to use the power of angels and the blessed souls?

She simply could not understand this. In all her years of life, she had never come across anything like this and she had lived for more years than she cared to remember. Her serpents continued to dwindle and soon all of them were completely eradicated.

The temple trembled again. Damon stood unshaken in the epicenter of it all, his aura rising like a storm-swallowed sun. And through it all, he smiled, feral, fearless, and utterly alive.

"Remind me again," he said as the last serpent was scorched to ash, "what exactly was I lacking?"

Damon knew he could have probably blocked that attack with just his body but he had a faint suspicion that a mental component was present in that attack which was why he did not want to take any chances.

Also, it shouldn’t hurt to show off here a bit. Otherwise, who knew he might have to fight against this snake woman here.

While he was confident against any opponent thrown in front of him at the moment, there were still monstrous beings far above and beyond his power level, at least for the time being.

He would be foolish to think that he was at the top of this world with just one single super awesome temporary mana core. A baby dragon was not a true dragon and he wasn’t even a baby primordial yet. Thankfully, his move seemed to have worked well.

The veiled woman stared speechlessly, very obviously impressed by his demonstration. After sometime she finally opened her mouth. "Your path is-"

"My path is unique." Damon finished for her. "That makes me worthy of claiming your god’s inheritance.

The veiled woman fell silent. The green mist surrounding her writhed but her form remained motionless, floating, cloaked in elegance and confusion. She then lowered her hand.

The spectral fang that once radiated judgment now crumbled into harmless motes of light. She floated downward until her bare feet touched the floor for the first time. The temple walls stopped trembling. The oppressive venomous aura eased, replaced by an eerie silence.
