Chapter 198: The super secret move
"That guy had been nurturing her and grooming her from right when she was just a small seed. But it was just an experiment for him. He never really interacted with her or made an effort to bond with her. He was simply testing various methods by which he could generate artificial world spirits and thereby artificial worlds." Damon explained.
"Then is she just a fake one or a real one?" Damon shook his head. "I have no idea. So far, she seems very real to me."
"Then, how are real worlds created? If she is made in a test tube, who makes the real world like our earth or this one?" Kate curiously asked, eyeing the red world spirit from top to bottom.
Damon could only bitterly smile at her questions. "Idiot, how do you expect me to know the answers to these questions? I am playing the same game as you! Do you know the answer to these questions?"
Kate rolled her eyes at the response. "Ya sure. We are playing the same game, you overpowered asshole." She pouted and folded her arms, still glaring at him.
"You’re out here adopting world spirits, forming your own pocket dimension, and probably evolving into some final boss-tier vampire overlord. Meanwhile, I just learned how to shoot a blood bolt without blowing up my own fingers."
Damon grinned. "Progress is progress. I believe in you."
Kate snorted. "Gee, thanks, oh mighty blood god."
Azuna watched the exchange with quiet amusement, her crimson eyes reflecting the soft ambient light of her world. "If I may speak," she said gently, "whether born of natural convergence or artificial creation, a world spirit is shaped by what it bonds with. My awakening was flawed... but it was Master’s essence that gave me purpose. That gave me... self."
Kate looked at her, eyes narrowing in thought. "So you’re saying you weren’t fully sentient before?"
"I existed," Azuna replied slowly. "But I did not live. Not until the blood of my Master stirred something within me. Now I dream. I feel. I wonder."
