Chapter 196: Binding ritual
Damon raised an eyebrow. "That’s it? Just blood?" He had expected a long list of items, but this felt extremely simple.
"There is nothing simple about a drop of blood that contains a fragment of the primordial bloodline, Master." Azuna smiled as she walked over to the center of the rune and pricked her fingertip with her nail. She let a drop of blood fall to the ground.
"Master, please do the same." Damon nodded and walked over. The space at the center was a little less so he had to stand pretty close to the world spirit. Kate’s face twitched as she watched the duo in action.
"It’s only for a second. It’s only for a second." Damon awkwardly explained to no one. He then pricked his finger again, letting a drop of blood fall in the same spot. Almost instantly, the entire rune circle lit up blood red.
Damon gasped in awe as a thick pillar of red light, the size of the rune shot up to the sky as if it was piercing the very heavens.
The beam of blood-red light pulsed with ancient power, sending shockwaves through the valley. The lush grass around them flattened under the pressure, and birds scattered into the misty skies above, crying out in alarm.
Azuna didn’t move. Her eyes were closed, arms raised slightly, as if surrendering herself to the surge. Somewhere in between all of this the clothes on her body had disappeared. The same happened to Damon as he was now standing completely naked.
"Master, place your hand on my chest." Azuna’s gently voice sounded in his mind.
Damon gulped. He knew this was a serious moment and he was extremely curious about what was going to happen next but when he looked at the place where he was supposed to touch, his hands twitched on their own.
