"GARAM Hyung, your new song sounds really good. It reminds me of Western pop songs from the 90s. I love it."
Lim Garam’s face lit up. "Really? I’m glad that you liked it, Sohee-ya. I’m actually worried because my song is so different from the trendy songs these days. Plus, most of those songs are only two minutes long. Mine is almost four minutes."
Oh, right.
"It’s true that most songs these days are only a little over two minutes long now, but I think it’s because companies want their artists’ songs to go viral on social media. And most of the newer fans of Kpop enjoy catchy songs, so I’d say they know their target audience," Sohee said, sharing his observation as a casual fan of Kpop songs. "But Hyung doesn’t have a company to please, so you can release any type of song that you want without having the need to follow the current trend."
"I’m worried, Sohee-ya. Do you think people will like my song?"
"Hyung, I’m sure there are fans who will appreciate your song. Fans like me, who miss the music from the previous generation, will surely like it."
Lim Garam looked relieved by what Sohee said. "Thank you for saying that, Sohee-ya."
"Hyung, I’m not trying to butter you up. Your song is really good. I also like Hanseo-ssi’s rap part."
"Right? He’s actually not confident because it’s been a long time since he last wrote a rap. Please praise him later."
"I will, Hyung. Hanseo-ssi will be here later?"
"Yep. We’re going to record his part again since he isn’t satisfied with what we recorded last time," Lim Garam said, pausing for a moment. "Kim Heedo will be here, too, right? Should we prepare a feast for tonight’s dinner?"
