His Naughty Lessons

Chapter 147: Cliché?

** Harper ** Eli seemed to be driving quite a bit faster than usual on their way back. Harper didn’t mind though. He had always been a good driver since high school, and what was the point of getting a Ferrari if you can’t enjoy the speed?

The sunset had followed them the entire way, painting the clouds at the end of the road a fiery shade of scarlet that slowly turned into glowing streaks of hot pink, then magenta, then purple. By the time they reached the hotel, the sky was a swathe of violet with only a glimmer of gold over the horizon, and the dusk light made everything look softer ... including the look in Eli’s eyes as he parked the car at the valet and held the door open for Harper.

She took his outstretched hand this time, not bothering to check if anyone else from work was around to see them. With a wide smile, they laced their fingers together and strode straight to his suite.

"Oh, I get to see the master bedroom at last?" Harper said in somewhat exaggerated excitement when she saw where they were heading inside. That room was the only place within the suite she hadn’t been to yet. The door had been closed since the night before, which made her assume that perhaps Eli didn’t want her to see the unorganized state of his private space.

Eli, on the other hand, arched an eyebrow at her exclamation. "I intend for you to do much more than ’see’ while you’re in there, Harper," he chuckled. With a look that spoke of sinful promises, he opened the door.

And then Harper’s steps froze right over the threshold. Her mouth literally fell open.

The large room in front of her was a sea of flowers, decorated from wall to wall with colorful leis. Purple orchids ran along the doorframe, arched into a beautiful garland that led toward the pink and orange plumerias decorating the entry table and wardrobe. A cascade of jasmines draped over the floor lamp and the desk, their white blooms tinted a shade of blush under the warm light. Red kika blossoms occupied the nightstands, and on the bed, rose petals covered almost every inch of flat surface, turning the mattress into a blanket of the most luxurious red velvet.

"What ..." It took Harper a long moment to remember to even breathe, and when she finally did, the heavenly scent of so many fresh blossoms filled her nostrils, more intoxicating than any perfume she could ever imagine.
