Chapter 79: At Your Disposal
** Harper **
His arm slammed into the wall behind her. Kisses slowed into short and breathless pants as their hands slipped away from between their bodies. His forehead fell against hers, and the heat of his skin felt almost feverish, scorching hot even against the steaming temperature of the shower.
With their chests pressed tight into each other, Harper could feel his wild heartbeat, all lost causes of a rhythm not unlike her own a few moments ago. It thrilled her to think that this was what she could do to him, to bring him such overwhelming sensations beyond his control. And the fact that he let her — that he was so willing and almost greedy about sharing this part of him with her — made her body shimmer with heat, and her mind was adrift in golden delight.
Maybe she was getting closer to turning this into something real. Looping her arms around his neck, she hugged him close, wishing this moment could last longer — the euphoria, the intimate contentment, the simple but palpable pleasure.
Eli’s arms came up behind her too, wrapping around her waist as he buried his face into her hair. It was a long while before he regained his voice and said, hoarsely, "I’m having a hard time believing that was your first try, Harper. You were ... You are incredible."
An elated grin curved Harper’s lips. Right, she loved that part too — sharing another one of her firsts with him and knowing that it had turned out so perfectly. "That should give you more reason to trust me with new endeavors in the future," she replied with no small sense of pride. Then she looked down between them, catching a glimpse of the last trace of him washing away from her skin. "Well, for example, you could’ve ... done it without pulling away. You know I wouldn’t mind."
She didn’t just not mind it. She actually wanted it. The thought of swallowing everything he had to give ... was so filthy but so impossibly hot that her legs were growing weak again just from thinking about it. She wished so much that he could’ve let her.
A finger hooked beneath her chin, titling her face up. "I could’ve done what without pulling away?" he asked, a smirk playing at the corner of his mouth. Even with the tension gone slack from his body, his eyes still looked dark and dangerous. "Say it, what would you have rather preferred me to do?"
"..." Harper bit her lips. Well, she might have gotten over her shyness at doing certain things with him now, but to say it out loud, to put it in blatant words while meeting his eyes ... was another thing altogether, and she felt a surge of heat rising up her cheeks.
