Chapter 77: Take Care of It for Good
** Eli **
Eli caught her before she collapsed against the tiles. Straightening himself, he turned her around and crushed his lips onto hers.
There was no gentleness in the way he did it. The kiss was rough, his tongue diving hard into her mouth while his hand fisted her hair. He suckled and nibbled hungrily, greedily, devouring the sweet taste and scent of her to quench his thirst.
Her breaths were a series of staccato puffs as she panted into him. Tiny tremors were still pulsing through her, and when she draped her arms around his shoulders, hooking them behind his neck, her whole body felt boneless. She welcomed each and every one of his kisses and touches with languid, contented sighs, as if she had melted into a puddle, pulling him in and drowning him within her liquid warmth.
And then she wobbled a little on her feet, stumbling into him. His swollen hard-on poked right into her lower belly.
They both gasped — she from surprise, he from equal parts pain and maddening arousal.
Harper broke their kiss and looked down. Her breathing had slowly started to calm down, and the beginning of a smile worked its way to her lips. "I see now ... the conundrum you mentioned." She looked back at him, a hint of wryness in her eyes. "Perhaps you should be glad that I hadn’t gone with the more adventurous underwear styles at dinner ... Would’ve made it inconvenient for you to lounge around in public, wouldn’t it?"
Eli wanted to tell her that this wasn’t funny — the need and ache he was feeling at the moment were torturous — but he found himself grinning in spite of it. "It’d be worth it," he said, which was an unfortunate truth. "And you could’ve helped me cover the situation easily, by sitting in my lap."
His hands slid behind her back and gave her ass a suggestive squeeze.
