Chapter 53: Whatever You Want
** Harper **
"I think you might know what I’m about to say next." His voice was a deep husk, and his eyes were hooded, gleaming darkly just like the way they did the last time at his place.
Harper let out a breathless chuckle. "Yes, I think I do." The words still sounded a bit wobbly. "Come here." She pulled him up toward her and pressed her lips to his.
She had never thought that she’d one day learn to enjoy something like this. To taste herself on someone else’s tongue always seemed odd and a bit awkward, and the idea never thrilled. But now, nothing felt sexier than the slight tinge of salty sweetness on his lips and in his mouth. It didn’t embarrass her anymore — quite the opposite, the intimate sense of contentment melted her to the bones, and she wished she could simply keep kissing him like this forever, never letting go.
Instinctively, she slid her arms behind his neck, pulling him in, entangling their tongues deeper. He seemed to be enjoying it too, as his body shifted and pressed lower into hers. His hand gripped her hips, and then—
The kiss was interrupted by something hard grinding into her belly.
Oh.
It must’ve been unintentional though, given the quick speed Eli pulled away with. "Um ... we can ignore that," he said in plain dismissal and readjusted his position so that their lower bodies no longer touched.
The realization came all too slowly to Harper’s still dazed mind. Right, she had noticed he was already hard the moment they walked into the bedroom. Which meant that he had been wearing this ever-growing bulge for the entire time while he was giving her the most mind-blowing pleasure she had ever experienced in her life ...
Wouldn’t he have ... wanted something, too? Something that she could’ve done for him in return?
Harper suddenly felt a bit mortified by the thought, and the hazy bliss in her head lifted a little at that. Darn, how clueless must she be for such a realization to have never occurred to her till now? Guiltily, she let her hand wander further down his back. "We should certainly not ignore that," she breathed, resting her palm over his waist. "I wish you had reminded me ... I mean, I should’ve ... thought of it myself, really. But I ... God, I clearly have so little clue about any of this."
It seemed to have taken him a while to see where she was coming from. When he did, the corner of his lips quirked. "You don’t have to do anything for me, Harper." He bent down to drop another kiss, this time just a peck on her cheek. "This is supposed to be about you, after all."
