Chapter 50: Devour You

From the expression on Harper’s face, Eli knew that he didn’t have to specify what "the next course" meant. Her cheeks were colored by just the perfect hint of a flush, and her lips were parted as she stared at him breathlessly, her eyes soft and ... wanting.
Hell he loved that look.
His hand moved out of its own will, touching a thumb to the softness of her bottom lip. "Bed or couch?" he asked.
The little dove, who had now turned into a sexy vixen, grinned at his words. There was only the slightest trace of shyness in that grin, drowned by the rest that was all eagerness. She emptied the remaining rosé from her glass and — he was surprised when she took his hand — led him to her bedroom.
The strange feeling from last week suddenly returned with the power of a tide. They hadn’t done anything yet, hadn’t even kissed, but just seeing her with that look on her face, following her to her room and knowing what was going to happen next ... was enough to make him immediately go hard. It was alarming, and Eli thought that he should probably start taking this as a serious, problematic sign, but the moment they reached the bed and Harper climbed into it ... That thought completely vanished from his head.
It shouldn’t have felt so arousing to simply be in a woman’s bedroom, but it was. The scent of her surrounded him, filling every corner of the space with the sweet notes of honey and vanilla. The colors meeting his eyes were soft and warm, all creams and beige, and it somehow blended in magically with the tone of her skin, making him feel as if she was everywhere, embracing him, welcoming him.
The feeling that should’ve been alarming was now a fire hissing inside him, urging him to follow the most basic human instinct.
"Should I ..." Harper perched on the edge of her bed, fingering the hem of her shirt. "Does this need to come off?"
