Chapter 97
Betrayed by Blood
Chapter 97
A black jeep stopped right in front of the pack house, and Lydia stood up from where she was talking to the servants. Her eyebrows furrowed at the sight of the car. They weren’t expecting any visitors yet, at least not until the moonlight festival. Lydia walked towards the door, waiting.
The jeep’s door opened, and a person stepped out. Their red hair flared in the wind, wearing a black fur coat, a black leather skirt, and large eyeglasses. Beside them, the driver had placed their suitcase. The person stood still, their gaze flickering over the house. They beckoned to some maids working outside to carry their suitcase and then began walking towards the door.
Lydia could barely believe her eyes. It was audacious of this person to come here so shamelessly. The person stopped in front of her, ran their hands through their voluminous hair, and slowly pulled off their sunglasses. A small smile appeared on their lips.
"Kendra," Lydia called out her name, her voice filled with bitterness.
"Oh, Lydia, I almost didn’t see you there and would’ve just walked right past you," she said, her voice filled with faux sweetness that irritated Lydia.
Lydia frowned, crossing her arms over her chest. "What are you doing here, Kendra? Your two months aren’t over. Did you think we all just forgot the stunt you pulled? How can you show your face here so-"
Kendra sighed loudly as she touched her temples tenderly, "Lydia, please...keep it short. I don’t know how much rambling I can handle."
