Cain stood in the doorway, his towering frame radiating raw power and rage. His dark gaze was locked on the warrior’s hand, which was still lightly resting on Avery’s wrist.
Avery flinched hard, the shock of Cain’s growl jolting her upright. She stumbled back, jerking her wrist free from the warrior’s grip, her heart hammering in her chest. Her eyes darted towards Cain, whose gaze was fixed on her wrist, where the warrior had held her.
She shakily pulled her hand behind her back, swallowing hard.
The warrior stammered, his voice shaky and almost incoherent as he tried to speak. "Alpha- I—"
Cain took a single step forward, and the warrior visibly shrank, his back pressing against the wall. His bravado was gone, replaced by sheer terror. The nurses and other warriors in the room stood frozen, too afraid to move, their gazes flickering nervously between Cain and the unfortunate warrior.
"Leave." Cain’s voice was dangerously calm, yet it sent shudders down the spines of those present.
