Betrayed by Blood, Claimed by the Alpha

Chapter 52

Betrayed by Blood~

Avery had barely taken three steps down the corridor before a hand shot out from the shadows and clamped around her wrist. A startled gasp escaped her lips as she was yanked into a dark room. The door slammed shut, and Avery spun to see Martha, her eyes filled with the same hatred Avery had now come to know.

"What do you think you’re doing?" Avery hissed. She was tired and frustrated as hell, her thoughts were running wild with their names ringing in her head repeatedly. She didn’t want this now.

"Do you have a death wish, girl?" Martha hissed, her voice low. She stepped closer to Avery, her eyebrows cocked up, her intimidating frame forcing Avery to step back until her back pressed against the cold wall. "Did you think for a second that I forget the stunt you pulled back in the woods?" She gritted out, grabbing Avery’s wrist roughly. "What did you tell Alpha Cain? I’m sure you said something to him! What exactly did you tell him, you wretch?" She snapped angrily.

Avery straightened, her ears ringing with each word that left Martha’s lips. "What did I tell him? Why do you want to know? Are you scared? Is that what this is?"

Martha was taken aback, she scoffed in disbelief. "Did you forget what I said, huh?" She spat out, her voice dropped low as she stepped forward in a bid to intimidate Avery even more. "Do you not care about her anymore? It won’t take me anything to have that bitch you share a room with rolling in a ditch with—"

"Is that all you can do, Martha?" Avery asked, cutting the other off, disbelief coating Martha’s eyes.

"I’m done with your bullshit, Martha. I’ve tried to have a proper conversation with you. I even apologized to you when you hurt me. I tried to be your friend, but you’re not worth it. You want to threaten me with Millie, then let’s get into it. I know what you, Kendra, and Lady Williams did, and don’t think for a second that I’ll let it go." Avery spat out.

"What?"

Avery scoffed, she couldn’t believe the audacity of Martha. "Alpha Cain pardoned you and brought you back into the pack, the least you could’ve done was literally not try to kill him. I overheard those men talking about killing him, but you people tried to gaslight me when you did, in fact, send those men to him. How do you live with yourselves like this?"

Martha stared at her blankly for some seconds then scoffed in disbelief. "You have no idea what you’re talking about. You’d do well to keep that pretty little mouth of yours shut before you say something you’ll regret."
