Walking lazily, Aniya reached Mrs. Eileen’s office, where George was waiting for her. This was too soon. She wasn’t prepared for it.
She was supposed to prepare a speech before meeting him, but this visit was unexpected. What would she tell him?
You love my sister, and I can’t wreck her home, so go back to her?
He would try to convince her. Like all the other men in her life, he would tell her all the sob stories about how he didn’t love his fiancée and wanted Anaya in his life. How could he think of leaving his soon-to-be wife for her?
She somehow remembered how Valerie had tried breaking her parents’ home. Whenever Valerie and Alaric used to discuss the past, Aniya could never realize that the topic of their discussion used to be her parents.
But now she knew.
She could be anything but not a home wrecker, and she needed to come up with a solid excuse.
"Go inside, dear," she jumped when heard Mrs. Eileen’s voice behind her, "he’s waiting for you."
Aniya’s lips quivered as she tried to smile, "Mrs. Eileen. You can accompany me inside."
"No, dear," Mrs. Eileen gave her a serious look, "I’ll be back when Mr. Donovan calls me. You should not make him wait as he came straight from the airport and must be tired."
What? He came straight from the airport?
