Chapter 400- My Love
"I need to use the restroom," When they reached the venue, Valerie’s date informed her before heading to the bathroom area.
Valerie nodded and walked ahead to mingle with the guests.
Her eyes were searching for her nieces when she found them in a corner talking to the groom. Joseph kneeled to fix the bow near Ariel’s neck. Sophie was laughing at something while standing there with her husband.
She was glowing.
Valerie wished she could also have a real wedding, but this was not the time to fret about it. Marissa and Rafael were nowhere in sight and Valerie needed to develop a connection with Ariel.
She got the chance when Sophie and Joseph got busy with the other guests.
"Hey!" she offered a hand to Ariel for a handshake who kept staring at her face and hand while not giving any reaction. Valerie had to control her grin. Ariel not only looked like her but also got her ego from her aunt.
She pulled her hand back without taking any offense. A governess was standing nearby who was keeping an eye on the girls like a hawk.
More than the governess, Valerie was scared of little Alexander who was way more protective of his sisters than their parents.
She crouched down near the girls and sensed Abigail’s eyes on her. She was looking at Valerie with a baby-like innocence.
"Abi. Let’s go and find Alex," Ariel held Abigail’s hand, but Abi didn’t move an inch and looked at Valerie.
