Marissa was standing on the grand balcony of her room, looking at the sprawling lawn, where she could easily go by using the small staircase provided in a corner.
Rafael made a good decision when he asked her to go home for the kids’ sake. They were mentally disturbed. Ariel was continuously talking about the blood drop that came out of Abi’s nostril. While Alex was trying to act like a cool brother, and the worry was evident on his face.
She jerked back to the real world when she heard Sophie behind her, "What are you thinking, Mar?"
Her friend had been here since the evening when she learned about Abigail’s condition.
Marissa shrugged and held the bowl of caramel popcorn that Sophie just brought.
Their guilty pleasure.
She grabbed a handful of popcorn and tossed it in her mouth.
"The event," she savored the gooey texture as she chewed, closing her eyes in bliss, "it’s less than a week away and I’m already getting heart palpitations."
Sophie groaned when saw her finishing the bowl at supersonic speed, "Leave some for me. Ok? And why these heart palpitations, honey?"
She tried to grab maximum popcorn into her fist but now Marissa wasn’t even interested in it anymore.
"The event is getting on my nerves now, Soph. Presence of Nina and Val. The announcement of our relationship. Our kids will be there. I don’t know what kind of reaction to expect from the people."
