The Fake Son Wants to Live [BL]

Chapter 282 - Those ocean eyes

Xing Yu quickly helped Jian adjust his clothes before calling the others back inside. Even though Jian was now perfectly dressed, his face was still as red as a tomato, and he seemed incapable of looking anyone directly in the eye.

Li Wang couldn’t resist.

He gave a low whistle as he walked over. "You really do resemble a strawberry right now." He gestured toward Jian’s neck with an amused grin.

Jian immediately rubbed the slightly sore spots, his blush deepening. "Shut it."

Before Li Wang could tease him any further, Jian hurried away and went to stand beside his lover.

Li Wang was left all alone again.

He frowned slightly as his eyes lingered on the couple standing together, watching as the spaceship prepared for takeoff. Xing Yu had one arm around Jian, keeping him close, while Jian leaned comfortably against him as though nothing in the world could possibly be more reassuring than having that man beside him.

Li Wang sighed.

All of his friends had lovers. He was the only one left single.

Then he paused.

Wait. I’m not the only one single...

He glanced back at Nansich, who was happily chatting with a female Farian. There was even a faint blush on Nansich’s face.

Li Wang stared for a moment before rolling his eyes.

Okay, I stand corrected. I might remain the only single human...

With that depressing thought, he turned his attention toward the view beyond the cockpit.

The spaceship had begun to rise.

At first, the movement was so smooth that Li Wang barely noticed it. There was no violent shaking like he had expected from something this enormous. Instead, a deep vibration gradually spread through the floor beneath his feet, a low mechanical hum that seemed to travel through the entire ship. The faint vibration grew stronger as the engines powered up, and the sound of the machinery became almost impossible to ignore.

Li Wang instinctively moved closer to the window.

The farm below was still familiar. The fields he had seen countless times stretched beneath them, the rows of crops becoming smaller with every passing second. The little cottage stood beside the farmland, looking almost ridiculously ordinary from above.

For a moment, he simply stared.

Then the ground began to pull away from them.

The trees shrank. The fences became thin lines. The cottage, which had once seemed large enough to hold so many memories, became smaller and smaller until it looked like a tiny object sitting in the middle of the vast land.

Li Wang’s expression slowly changed.

He had known they were leaving.

Everyone had known.

But somehow, knowing they were going to leave and actually watching the world disappear beneath them were two entirely different things.

The ship climbed higher.

Clouds drifted into view, first as scattered wisps and then as a thick white layer. Soon, the farm disappeared completely beneath them. Li Wang watched until there was nothing left to see except clouds stretching endlessly beneath the ship.

He swallowed quietly.

So that’s it.

For the first time, the reality of what they were doing truly settled over him.

He was going to an alien land.

Not another city. Not another country. Not somewhere on Earth that he could return from whenever he wanted.

An entirely different world.

And there, everything was going to be different.

The thought made his stomach tighten.

He was the only proper human among them. The others knew the Farians, understood their customs, their technology, their world. Even the people who had once seemed just as unfamiliar with everything had somehow found their place.

But Li Wang?

He had no idea what awaited him.

He didn’t know what the Farian world looked like. He didn’t know how its people would react to him. He didn’t know whether they would accept a human among them, or whether he would spend the rest of his life feeling like an outsider.

For once, there was no sarcastic remark ready on his tongue.

He simply sighed and rubbed the bridge of his nose.

"If you feel sick, you should rest in your room," the familiar, annoying voice called from behind him.

Li Wang immediately turned around and glared.

"Celaus, mind your own business."

"You are my mate, so technically you are my business too," Celaus said with that same stoic expression on his face.

Seeing that expressionless yet annoyingly handsome face pissed Li Wang off even more.

Are all Farians expressionless like him? Xing Yu also seems to be...

His gaze shifted toward the alien general.

Xing Yu was standing with Jian, one arm still wrapped around him. His face remained as stoic as ever, showing almost nothing to anyone watching.

But his eyes were different.

Li Wang stared for a moment.

Those eyes seemed to shine with something that completely contradicted Xing Yu’s expression.

Love.

It was obvious in the way he looked at Jian.

Li Wang quickly looked away.

Suddenly, another towering figure stepped directly into his line of sight, blocking the young couple completely.

Li Wang’s irritation returned immediately.

"Can you stand somewhere else? You’re blocking my view." He gritted his teeth as he gazed up into Celaus’s blue eyes.

Celaus simply looked down at him.

"Mate, only have eyes for me. My heart can’t seem to handle you looking at another," he whispered before turning around and leaving him all alone.

Li Wang remained standing there.

For several seconds, he didn’t move.

All he could hear were those words echoing inside his mind.

Only have eyes for me.

His hands clenched tightly at his sides. He shook his head vigorously, as though he could physically throw the words out of his thoughts.

"He is getting inside my head," he muttered to himself, frustrated. "I can’t let that happen. I’m not gay!"

Li Wang practically fled the cockpit.

He walked down the corridor faster than necessary, his footsteps echoing against the metallic floor as he tried to put as much distance between himself and Celaus as possible. The moment he reached his room, he pushed the door open, stepped inside, and shut it firmly behind him.

Only then did he let out the breath he had been holding.

He stood with his back against the door for a moment, staring blankly at the ceiling.

Only have eyes for me.

The words immediately resurfaced in his mind.

Li Wang’s face twitched.

"Why am I even thinking about that?"

He pushed himself away from the door and plopped onto the bed. His mind stubbornly returned to Celaus.

Those ocean blue eyes lingered in his thoughts...

Li Wang groaned and covered his face with both hands.

"What’s wrong with that guy?"

His cheeks suddenly felt warm.

He frowned.

Then he touched them.

They were hot.

"...What?"

Li Wang immediately sat up.

The heat spreading across his face only seemed to grow stronger. He rubbed his cheeks as though that might somehow make the warmth disappear, but it did nothing.

His mind betrayed him again.

My heart can’t seem to handle you looking at another.

His ears turned red.

"No."

He shook his head firmly.

"No, no, no. Absolutely not."

He flopped back onto the bed and pulled a pillow over his face.

"It doesn’t mean anything."

His muffled voice came from beneath the pillow.

"He’s just saying nonsense. That’s all."

He squeezed the pillow tighter.

"I’m not gay."

For some reason, saying it this time didn’t make him feel any better.

Li Wang stayed there in silence, his face still burning beneath the pillow.

And the more he tried not to think about Celaus, the more clearly that irritatingly handsome face appeared in his mind.
