Yelena stood there, arms folded, a perfectly calm expression painted across her face like she was watching someone do a mildly risky circus act and not her own daughter inching closer to death.

And then there was the infamous incident during training, where Charlotte used herself as bait during a mission simulation, where she lured out a B-Class King Wasp just so Mika she could impress Mika and show off.
She came back bruised head to toe, smiling like she’d just won a medal of honor and god knows that if Mika didn’t quickly save her at that time, she didn’t even know if her daughter would still be here now.
Yelena had grounded her for three months for that stunt, made her train with dumbbells strapped to her ankles, but it hadn’t changed a damn thing.
