Evan tilted his head slightly, staring at Theron with lazy amusement.
"What does it look like I’m doing?"
"Trying to mark him. While he’s unconscious," Theron snapped, stepping between Rin and the Duke. "That’s disgusting, even for you."
Evan scoffed, running a hand through his tousled hair. "You say that like I was actually going to bite. I was just... tasting."
Theron gritted his teeth, barely managing to keep his voice level. He knew the Duke was lying, but he couldn’t say that to his face. Calling the Duke a liar couldn’t let him land in the dungeon, even as a noble himself. He just couldn’t watch him try to bite Rin, not just on his skin but, on the most important part of his body.

"Well, stop. Refrain from touching ’My Patient’, your Grace,"
"I never knew you’d be so rigid... Head Doctor," Evan grinned. "At the same time, it looks to me you’re trying to protect Rin from me. I’m not a monster,"
Theron’s lips twitched. He wanted to speak, but he didn’t know what to say. It was true when the Duke said he was trying to protect Rin from him. He couldn’t believe he got caught. Other than that, he can’t let Rin be touched by the Duke.
"You must be thinking I would toss Rin into my ’Game’, right?"
"Isn’t that why you’re trying to get close to him?" Theron asked and there wasn’t any response from Evan. His silence already sent his clear response. He’s not after Rin because of feelings or anything related to love. Rin is just one of the many pawns he wishes to get his hands on.
