Chapter 27: A Gift!
Rin sat up with a sharp inhale, sweat beading on his forehead. He was breathless and looked around quickly.
There was nothing.
He was sure he heard a system notification of an unknown figure. Even the system didn’t know who it was.
He looked to the side and noticed the sound of Cerberus panting gently near the bed.
He rubbed his eyes.
"Or was that a dream...?" he mumbled, scanning the room again. Still empty. There wasn’t even a shadowy figure.
But he felt it... The cold fingers that trailed around his body. It felt real, nothing like a dream or illusion. If it wasn’t real then, then what? There was no one in his room and the window was sealed shut. It was just his demonic dog with three heads staring at him with a wagging tail.
"Was someone here just now?" he asked the dog.
Cerberus barked once.
Rin stared, as if he was expecting an answer.
"Right... you’re a dog. You can’t exactly say ’Yes, Master, a creepy bastard licked your hand in the night.’"
He sighed disappointedly, running a hand through his hair. His body still tingled, especially along his chest and palms. There weren’t any traces but..... Someone had definitely been here.
