All eyes at the scene instantly converged on him.
Li Ang faced every curious, skeptical, or disdainful gaze with composure, unruffled.
"You are..."
Qiu Feng frowned slightly as she looked at Li Ang. Before Li Ang could reply, Zhai Yiming, beside her, stepped forward and said loudly, "This is Li Ang, a renowned doctor from Yizhou. Though he is young, in terms of medical skill, he is among the best in all of Jiangnan Road."
Zhai Yiming wore a proud expression, yet the surrounding exam candidates did not believe him outright, murmuring among themselves, "Hey, since when did Yizhou become famous for its doctors?"
"I did hear about a Fortune Doctor named Yu Miaoshui there who sells mung bean soup, claiming it cures all diseases."
"Mung bean soup that cures all diseases? Must be another scam to swindle money from the simple-minded."
Li Ang listened to the whispers around him, his eyes twitching involuntarily, his resentment towards Yu Miaoshui deepening. That fellow made a hefty profit for himself but completely ruined the reputation of Yizhou’s Xinglin beyond its borders, even implicating me.
Quacks are truly a menace, Li Ang thought, silently shaking his head and sighing to himself.
Before him, however, Qiu Feng’s eyes widened in surprise. "Are you the Li Ang who cured the eye diseases of over a hundred military horses at the Yizhou Pasture Supervision Office using pig eyeballs?"
"I am."
Li Ang nodded in astonishment. "Miss, have you heard of me?"
