Chapter 484 - 0484 Persuade_1
Even if Ruffy were willing, Taylor would never agree.
He allowed Ruffy to come back this time out of respect for the favor Mr. Moore had done for the Smith Family in the past, but it wasn’t a significant obligation.
At most, it was just going through the motions.
Taylor remembered, which showed that he was a grateful person. Everyone knew about Ruffy’s temper; he was a troublemaker, especially in Imperial City, where he was notoriously difficult to manage. Not even Taylor could control him, let alone outsiders.
Last time James Moore came to ask for Taylor’s help, Taylor had already found it outrageous, and Ruffy nearly lost his temper with him afterwards. Fortunately, the troublemaker had recently encountered something that cheered him up a bit, so Taylor would definitely prefer to avoid further complications.
Then Mr. Moore came knocking again.
All Taylor could do was to go through the motions and offer some consolation, but he hadn’t expected the request to be so preposterous.
To have Ruffy spend time accompanying Roxanne Moore?
Taylor didn’t dare let Ruffy go out to meet Mr. Moore, mainly for fear that Ruffy might blurt out something like "get the hell away from me" and infuriate the old man. Yet internally, he couldn’t believe it and thought Mr. Moore must be seriously out of his mind.
Inside, Ruffy was on the phone with Ellen Young, while outside Taylor’s voice sounded as elegant and gentle as ever, "Uncle Moore, there are some things you should be more open-minded about. Your daughter has been dead for many years, and some people, no matter how similar, are not her. Based on her behavior today, do you think your daughter, if she were still alive, would be happy to see her once greatly admired father debase himself so, all for an unreasonable request?"
Mr. James Moore’s elderly eyes seemed to contain tears. Hearing Taylor’s words, his lips trembled, his hand rested on his walking stick, and he turned his head to the side, presumably out of shame.
