Chapter 7: There Will Never Be a Daughter Like You
Even though the Gu Family was too upset to eat, the dinner ended amidst laughter.
The dishes Mrs. Qin made were almost entirely consumed by Jiang Xiangwan and Han Liheng.
It wasn’t until Jiang Xiangwan’s manager saw her devouring food on camera as if her life depended on it, that she angrily called and warned Jiang Xiangwan not to eat anymore. Only then, albeit reluctantly, did Jiang reluctantly put down her chopsticks.
After dinner, Gu Yiyi and Qi Yunlin voluntarily took on the task of washing dishes; no one contested them, and Gu Zhi led Father Qin and Mother Qin upstairs to rest.
Although the master bedroom was spacious, it had only one bed. Father Qin and Mother Qin specifically left the big bed for Gu Zhi. Just like all parents in the world, they habitually leave the best things for their children.
Mrs. Qin looked at Gu Zhidao: "Zhi Zhi, you sleep on the bed. Your father and I can just make a simple bed on the floor."
Gu Zhi, however, smiled and said, "You sleep on the bed; I’ll sleep in the study, there’s a sofa."
Mrs. Qin pursed her lips, hesitated for a moment, and after looking at her for a while, couldn’t help but ask, "Zhi Zhi, have you encountered something? Why have you changed so much? Is it because over there... they treat you badly?"
After all, she was the daughter she had raised personally. Any change, Mrs. Qin could notice at a glance.
The previous Zhi Zhi used to be carefree and flamboyant, unlike now, so reserved and calm, which made her heart ache even more.
Gu Zhi was taken aback for a moment, then came to her senses and gave Father Qin and Mother Qin a faint smile, "Don’t worry, I am aware of my own matters. Everything’s fine."
