Chapter 1399: Giving Him Hope
It’s true, Bai Lan’s extensive experience provided Jiang Xue with many good suggestions. As a result, Jiang Xue’s original plan became more detailed and reasonable.
After the discussion was settled, Jiang Xue finally left, and it was already almost eight o’clock when she got home. Fortunately, she had called in advance, so Niu had saved her some dinner.
After dinner, Jiang Xue played with her son for a while before going upstairs. Little Reunion originally wanted to follow Jiang Xue, but was coaxed by Yu Hua and didn’t go up.
Once in the study, Jiang Xue refined the plan that the three of them had discussed in the afternoon and then printed it out from the computer.
She was so busy that it was past eleven o’clock. Jiang Xue reviewed the plan, saw that there were no problems, saved it, and planned to print it out at the company the next day, then deliver a copy to Mr. Lan.
After Jiang Xue finished her work and was about to go to bed, she heard footsteps coming from the stairs. She went to take a look and found her mother-in-law, Yu Hua, carrying Little Reunion up.
It turned out Little Reunion didn’t want to sleep with them, so Yu Hua had no choice but to bring Little Reunion up. Luckily, Jiang Xue hadn’t gone to sleep yet, otherwise, she would have had to knock on the door.
Jiang Xue took Little Reunion from Bai Yuhua, thanked her, and then carried her son back to the room. Strangely enough, Little Reunion, who had been unwilling to sleep at first, quickly fell asleep once in Jiang Xue’s arms.
Looking at her sleeping son, Jiang Xue sighed, then placed him on the bed, fetched a basin of water from the bathroom, and gently cleaned him up.
If she wasn’t worried about Little Reunion getting sick from bathing while asleep, she would have taken him directly for a bath.
After wiping Little Reunion’s body, Jiang Xue changed him into clean pajamas, tucked him in, and let him sleep while she went to take a shower.
Once her hair was dry, she went straight to bed. The next morning, when Jiang Xue woke up, Little Reunion was already awake, lying beside her, playing with her long hair.
Seeing Jiang Xue wake up, Little Reunion showed a big smile.
"Son, you’re awake?" Jiang Xue asked with a smile, then gave Little Reunion a kiss on the cheek. This made Little Reunion a bit shy, who then grabbed the nearby blanket to cover his face.
Watching him, Jiang Xue laughed out loud, pulled away Little Reunion’s blanket, and went to kiss him on the face again. The two played for quite a while before getting out of bed.
After changing clothes, Jiang Xue carried Little Reunion downstairs. By then, the elders had already gone out for their morning exercises, so Jiang Xue had to play with her son in the living room.
After about an hour of playing, seeing it wasn’t early anymore, they went for breakfast before preparing to go to work.
Fortunately, by then, the elders returned from their exercise. Jiang Xue handed Little Reunion over to them and went to work by car.
The first thing at work, Jiang Xue printed out the plan she wrote the night before. She printed two copies, keeping one for herself and preparing to give the other to Mr. Lan.
With the printed plan in hand, Jiang Xue returned to her office and began handling her work. Around ten o’clock, Jin Hao called, asking how Jiang Xue had considered things.
Jiang Xue hesitated and replied to Jin Hao. She meant that she had thought it over and wanted to collaborate with them, but was somewhat hesitant. Moreover, there were some details she wanted to learn more about. In short, she gave Jin Hao hope but didn’t provide a definite answer.
