Rebirth in the 90s: Melting My Devoted Mr. Iceberg

Chapter 1384: Jin Hao Is Getting Anxious

"Hey, brother, Uncle Lu!" Jiang Xue greeted the father and son waiting at home with a smile.

"You’re here, come on in!" Lu Zheng called out, and Jiang Xue and Mu Qiancheng followed him into the living room, placing the gifts they were carrying aside.

Lu Zheng had the household servants take the gifts brought by the two, and only then did they sit down for a proper chat. Jiang Xue and Mu Qiancheng stayed at the Lu Family’s home for the entire morning and left after having lunch.

Seeing the time was still early, the couple didn’t rush home but instead went shopping on the street. Jiang Xue bought some gifts for the elders at home.

South City.

Since the day Jiang Xue exposed Jin Hao’s deceit, Jin Hao hadn’t contacted Jiang Xue for two days. He wanted to leave Jiang Xue hanging, hoping she’d come crawling back to him.

After all, he had many orders, which amounted to a significant sum of money. Jin Hao believed Jiang Xue wouldn’t throw money away and would surely contact him proactively.

Unexpectedly, after waiting two days, Jiang Xue hadn’t reached out to him, and there wasn’t even a call from Shangguan Wenbin.

This made Jin Hao somewhat worried. He came with a purpose, and he didn’t want to return without achieving it. So, he held off for half a day more until the afternoon of the third day, unable to hold back any longer, he called Jiang Xue’s office.

Unexpectedly, there was no answer at all. Jin Hao, out of options, dialed Shangguan Wenbin’s number and finally learned that Jiang Xue had left South City.

This realization made Jin Hao anxious. Jiang Xue had quietly left South City; if she didn’t return, how could he accomplish his goal?

So, he hurriedly inquired where Jiang Xue had gone, but Shangguan Wenbin, following Jiang Xue’s prior instructions, didn’t disclose the location.

Jin Hao had no choice but to hang up and instruct someone to investigate where Jiang Xue had gone. After checking, he discovered Jiang Xue had gone to Beijing.

Having learned of Jiang Xue’s whereabouts, Jin Hao didn’t immediately decide on his next move. He wanted to think carefully since he found Jiang Xue hard to comprehend. He needed to ponder over how to convince her of his sincerity and secure her cooperation to achieve his aims.

Eventually, he came up with a plan, albeit one that required Ah Lin to endure some hardship. Although Ah Lin was reluctant after hearing Jin Hao’s plan, he was a servant, and the master’s words were absolute unless he didn’t want to live.

Thus, after Jin Hao and Ah Lin discussed and finalized their scheme, they immediately set off for Beijing.

Upon arriving in Beijing, Jin Hao made a point of visiting his parents’ old friends to reconnect emotionally. While doing this, he secretly had someone investigate where Jiang Xue was staying, planning to orchestrate an encounter.

At this moment, Jiang Xue was completely unaware that Jin Hao had chased her all the way to Beijing to achieve his goal. After shopping with Mu Qiancheng, she had dinner outside before returning home.

Back home, Mu Qiancheng and Jiang Xue sat on the sofa to rest. The couple had been out shopping all afternoon and were a bit tired.

After about half an hour of resting, Jiang Xue went to take a shower and change clothes. Seeing Jiang Xue heading to the shower, Mu Qiancheng followed.

As he followed, the solo shower turned into a duo, extending what was meant to be a thirty-minute bath into an hour-long experience.

When Jiang Xue finally emerged, her legs were weak. Thankfully, Mu Qiancheng, seeing she couldn’t walk, carried her back to the bedroom.

Lying on the bed, Jiang Xue looked at the spirited Mu Qiancheng, her face full of grievances.
