Chapter 436: Unable to Get What One Wishes
This morning, right after breakfast, Mu Qiancheng and his group went into the mountains for training. Lu Ling had decided to focus on Mu’s parents, so she didn’t go with them.
Before heading to training, Mu Qiancheng had arranged for companions, so whether Lu Ling wanted to return to the city or stay at the camp, there would be someone with her.
As soon as Mu Qiancheng left, Lu Ling had the soldier who stayed with them take her to Huanglong Village to find Mu Qiancheng’s parents.
Unexpectedly, she was excited for nothing. Mu Qiancheng’s parents weren’t home at all. Feeling unhappy, Lu Ling turned and saw Wang Min smiling, and couldn’t help but get angry, glaring at her, saying, "What are you laughing at?"
"What am I laughing at, what’s it to you?" Wang Min retorted, then turned to the embarrassed young soldier who had led them there and said, "Comrade, since there’s no one at Major Mu’s house, why don’t we head back?"
"No way, we can’t just leave like this. What if the family members just went out?" Lu Ling was unwilling to give up and stopped them.
She had walked over an hour through the mountains to get here, and now there was no one to see. How could she be willing to go back now?
Since she came today, she had to meet someone before leaving.
"Lu Ling, is something wrong with your brain? It’s New Year, who would lock their door? Since the door is locked, it clearly means no one is home. Besides, there’s no sign of New Year at the entrance, even if you wait until tomorrow, their family won’t come back."

"Okay, go ahead and ask. I’ll wait here to see what you find out?" Wang Min said, crossing her arms and standing aside, looking indifferent.
"You!" Lu Ling was furious, glaring fiercely at Wang Min, then headed towards the neighboring Zhuo Family. The Zhuo Family hadn’t closed their courtyard door, but Lu Ling still knocked a few times, heard a response, and then entered.
"Who are you?" Mr. Zhuo was a bit surprised to see Lu Ling. He didn’t know her and didn’t understand why she was visiting him.

"To Xu City?" Lu Ling was taken aback, surprised that Mu Qiancheng’s parents had gone to Xu City. So she asked, "Do you know when they’ll be back?"
"That’s hard to say."
"Why?"
"Comrade, you might not know, but Qian Cheng’s wife bought a house in Xu City and took the elders there for New Year. Even if they come back, it won’t be until after the New Year."
"I see!" Lu Ling felt disappointed. She hadn’t expected Mu Qiancheng’s parents to go to Xu City for New Year.
It’s all that Jiang Xue’s fault, taking them to Xu City for New Year, causing her to make a wasted trip.
Lu Ling silently blamed Jiang Xue for taking Mu Qiancheng’s parents away. Otherwise, she would have seen them today.
