"Look at me, I got so excited I forgot everything. Come on, come on, come inside." Mr. Mu snapped back to reality and ushered Mu Qiancheng into the house.
Mu Qiancheng didn’t speak and walked in with his things.
Just now, at the hotel entrance, he saw someone selling fruit and went out of his way to buy some.
Mr. Mu saw the fruit in Mu Qiancheng’s hands too, his smile deepened, but he said, "You child, you came, that’s enough, why buy something?"
"Just some fruit, nothing expensive," Mu Qiancheng said lightly, then looked around the whole room before asking, "Why did you come to Xu City yourself? If there’s anything, mentioning it over the phone would have sufficed."
"Haven’t been here for a long time, so came to have a look," Mr. Mu replied with a smile. He couldn’t admit he missed Mu Qiancheng, afraid he might react badly.
Now, finally, his grandson is willing to be close to him, he couldn’t push him away again. Even if this closeness had an ulterior motive, he would gladly accept it.
"Then stay for a few more days." Mu Qiancheng actually didn’t know what to say to Mr. Mu. Even though they’re grandfather and grandson, they’ve never been together before.

He was eager to build a good relationship with his grandson, to enjoy family happiness with his old friends, rather than be alone like now. Every time he saw his friends brag about their children and grandchildren, he had nothing to say.
