Chapter 26: Are You Okay?
Unexpectedly, her words of thanks startled Mu Qiancheng, who asked, "Xue’er, are you okay?"
"I’m fine, aren’t I?" Jiang Xue looked puzzled as she gazed at Mu Qiancheng. She was perfectly fine, so how could anything be wrong?
"If nothing’s wrong, why are you thanking me? I didn’t do anything," Mu Qiancheng asked her, confused.
Jiang Xue smiled and said, "It’s nothing, I just wanted to thank you."
Mu Qiancheng gazed deep into her eyes, unable to see anything from her expression, so he let it go and said, "Since you’re awake, have something to eat. The chicken soup is just ready, I’ll go get it."
"Alright!" Jiang Xue nodded as she watched Mu Qiancheng leave, letting out a small sigh of relief. She had actually been a bit nervous just now, with even her palms sweating.
She was really afraid Mu Qiancheng would keep asking, but thankfully he didn’t.
Mu Qiancheng went to the kitchen, where Bai Yuhua saw him return and asked, "So, is Xue’er awake?"
"She’s awake!"
"Then get a bowl of chicken soup for Xue’er to drink. After she finishes, she can have her meal," Bai Yuhua instructed. Today, she had specially bought a chicken to help Jiang Xue nourish her body.
"Alright, I’ll take a bowl over right now." Mu Qiancheng spoke as he walked to the stove and scooped out the chicken soup.
