Mythran's Master Of All

Ren and Xuunah arrived at the restaurant and Artemis flew over their heads and landed on the roof of the building to wait and to keep a lookout. Ren saw the long line of people outside waiting to get in, and Teepo estimated it would take half an hour before they would make it inside. That would be cutting into Ren's time to spend with Nathalia and Xuunah, so he concentrated on his connection to Nathalia.

My Love, I'm outside your restaurant. Ren thought.

I'll be right out to get you. Nathalia thought back.

Both Ren and Xuunah felt Nathalia come through the portal and their connections with each other went to full strength. Distance diminished it somewhat, but it was always there. She came out through the front door of the restaurant and waved them over.

“I came over earlier and booked a table.” Nathalia said and motioned for him and Xuunah to go inside. “I knew you needed one.”

“Thank you.” Ren said and took her hand. “I didn't think to do it myself.”

Nathalia chuckled. “You've got everything else on your mind, so that's understandable.” She said and went back in through the front door, then led Ren and Xuunah to a curtained-off table in the back. The plates of food were already there and waiting, and the three of them sat down to eat.

“Before we start, there's something I'd like to say.” Ren said, and Nathalia touched his mouth with a fingertip.

“If it's about what happened to you, I know.” Nathalia said and touched her heart. “I felt the change when you came back.”

“But...”

“You pledged to share everything with me when we built this bond between us.” Nathalia said. “I didn't get the full intensity like Xuunah did; but, I did get it all the same.”

Ren reached out and cupped the side of her face. “Are you okay?”

“I am now that you are.” Nathalia said and leaned her head into his palm. “Now taste this dish I made for you.”

Ren picked up the spoon beside his plate and dug into the great-smelling food. “My mouth is watering already.” He said and took a bite. When it hit his tongue, the flavor shot through him. “Holy crap! That's delicious!”

Nathalia chuckled. “It's my latest creation.”

“What's it called?” Ren asked and took another spoonful.

“Adventurer's Delight.”

“It sure is.” Ren said and kept eating, and Xuunah and Nathalia ate as well. No one spoke until the meal was over, and when Ren swallowed the last bit, he received a popup.
