Chapter 402 - Bouncers
The dance competition was over and Jennifer was declared the winner, so the dancers enjoyed eating the steak and potatoes Ren had prepared for them. Tee-one and Ruck came down the stairs and walked over to Ren, who stood near the dancers in case they needed anything else.
“Dalli is all set up.” Tee-one said. “Ruck and I even made her some new clothes.”
“That's great!” Ren said. “Thanks a lot, both of you.”
Ruck gave Ren a 'thumbs up' gesture, and Tee-one held in his automatic protest that he didn't need to be thanked.
“Now that you're here, I had an idea for temporary bouncers.” Ren said.
“You can't be seriously thinking that...” Tee-one started to say, then thought about it. “...actually, that's not a bad idea.”
Ren chuckled. “I could make the old joke that you mean it's not a good idea; but, we both know this technically should work.”
“It's a really sneaky work-around.”
“I certainly hope so.” Ren said and chuckled again. “Plus, if it doesn't work, I'll see about making a staff for it instead.”
“Now that is a good idea.” Tee-one said.
Ren clapped Tee-one on the shoulder and turned to the dancers. “Ladies, my friends and I need to go for a while to make your bouncers.” He said. “Please enjoy the meal.”
“You should sit down and join us.” The Manager said. “This is all here because of you.”
Ren smiled. “Ma'am, ladies.” He said. “You're wrong. All of this is here because of you. You're intelligent, you're resourceful, you know what you want and are willing to do anything you can to get it.”
The women sat there and basked in his compliments, but they also had a strong feeling of disbelief.
“Oh, I forgot that.” Ren said and picked up the Amulet of Interrogation he had left on the table. He felt the realization that he was telling the truth spread to all of them, and he stored the amulet. “I'll be back soon.”
The Manager nodded, along with several of the other women; then Ren, Tee-one, and Ruck left the Pleasure Palace and ran down the road to the big warehouse and the giant forge.
“Okay, mold time.” Ren said and they made a giant mold in the shape of a muscle man. Muscular legs, arms, and chest were carved into the stone mold, and they laid it down in front of the middle satellite smelter. They set it to pour and opened the main smelter, then let the molten metal run down the trough and out through the smaller smelter into the mold. They had only carved the front half, because Ren wanted it to be able to stay out of the way next to the wall when not in use.
Ren absorbed the heat from it so it would cool evenly, and then popped it out of the mold. They now had the front half of a 6 and a half foot tall muscle man. He stored it and they poured another.
“I really hope this works.” Ren said and absorbed the heat from the second bouncer. “If it does...”
“...you won't need to worry about hiring tons of troops.” Tee-one said.
Ren took out a Level 5 wand and changed the spells in it to Animate Object, then examined it.
