Mythran's Master Of All

Chapter 207 - A New Quest

Elise broke the kiss a few minutes later, and sighed in pleasure. It was even better than I imagined!

“W-wow.” Ren said, his eyes still wide in surprise. Elise smiled, gave him another little kiss, and stood up straight.

“I better get home and get some rest myself.” Elise said. “Have fun in the game.”

“O-okay.”

“Goodnight.” Elise said and let his hand go. “Bye, Stella.”

“Bye, Elise.”

“Who the hell is this kid?” The NSA agent asked his partner.

“What do you mean?”

“Oh, come on, Bill!” Gary said, and waved at the small television screen they were watching. “Look at her!”

A 6 foot 5 inches tall (actually 6 foot 2 inches with 3 inch heeled shoes), long haired, red-headed amazon walked across the parking lot. Elise took out her keys and climbed into the Hummer H2.

“I'd kill someone just to have her kick me in the balls, and she's making out with him!”

Bill laughed as he pictured that scenario. “Maybe he's got something that you don't.”

“Like what?”

“Her.” Bill laughed again and pulled up the footage from when the other agents were in the room questioning Ren. “Now get back to work.”

Gary sighed and put his earphones back on and listened as well. If the other bugs only picked up half of the information his team just received, they'd have this case solved in no time.

Oh, my GOD! Elise thought as she sat in her Hummer H2. She took several deep breaths as she tried to calm down. She had felt the dampness grow between her legs while she kissed Ren, and had to get out of there before anyone noticed. She waited for a moment, collected herself, and smiled as she drove out of the parking lot.

“Well.” Stella said after Elise left. “That was interesting.”

Ren snorted a laugh. “You peeked, didn't you?”

Stella grinned at him. “I tried, but her hair covered you up.”

He smiled. “Can you put the VR headset on me?”

“Sure.” Stella said and put it on him. “How's it sitting?”

“It's a little off to the left.” Ren said. “Can you fluff the pillow a little?”

Stella did so, and Ren smiled.

“That's got it.” He said. “Thanks.”

“Good luck.” Stella said.

“Flow Login Start.”

Ren woke up on the couch. Teepo?

“REN!” Teepo hollered and flew into the main room from the kitchen. “You've been gone so long, that I... I thought...”

I'm sorry, Teepo. Ren thought to his friend. If I'd known I would be gone so long, I would have warned you.

“I don't care about that!” Teepo said. “I'm just glad you're okay now.”

I hope I am. He sighed. Do you want me to tell you now, or when I try to explain to Nathalia?

“I can wait.” Teepo said. “For the few seconds that will take.” He chittered in laughter. “She's in the kitchen.”

But, it's the middle of the night!

Teepo landed on his shoulder. “She hasn't been sleeping much since you've been gone.”

Ren hopped up and ran to the kitchen. “Nathalia!”

Nathalia had her elbows on the table and her head in her hands. When Ren said her name, it had startled her.

“REN!” She exclaimed, jumped up, and grabbed him into a hug so tight, Ren couldn't breathe.

“I... am... so... sorry...” Ren wheezed out.

Nathalia eased her hold on him, and leaned back to look at him. “What happened to you?”

“I...” Ren sighed. “When I went to take care of some Adventurer's business, I received a package...”

After he told her an abbreviated version of the events that had happened, Nathalia stared at him in horror.

“You... you're telling me that Adventurers drugged you, and that others came to your rescue and saved you?”

Ren nodded slightly.

“Oh, Ren!” Nathalia started crying. “I thought you were only in danger here!”

“Me, too.” Ren said, and wiped her tears away. “I had no idea what was going on there, until my friends helped me.”

“Please, thank them for me.” Nathalia said and kissed him. “They brought you back to me.”

Ren picked her up and took her to bed. They concentrated on their House Neram pendants, merged their Auras, then spent a few hours together before they went to sleep. Ren woke up early the next morning, and came out to the kitchen. Ereka was there, and she dropped her plate of food when she saw him.

“By the gods! You're back!” Ereka said, walked over to him, and gave him a hug. “You... you're really here!”

Ren looked at her with concern on his face. “Ereka, what is it?”

“Just having you back isn't enough?” She asked as she let him go.

“No.” Ren said. “You're more relieved than you are happy.”

Ereka chuckled. “I forget that I'm concentrating on my Aura all of the time.”

“That doesn't really make sense.” Ren said and smiled. “But since I do the same thing, I know what you mean.”

Ereka nodded. “Croggart called me a few weeks ago.”

“Where has he been?”

“In the area between dwarf and giant lands.”

“WHAT?!?”

“I know.” Ereka said. “I called him every name I could think of, until he explained that he was there because Groggot and another dwarf were scouting for more giants, so they could warn the Garrison.”

Ren sighed. “They found one.”

“Oh, it's much, much worse than that.” Ereka said. “They were attacked by one they stumbled upon, she killed Nershan, and took Groggot.”

Ren blinked his eyes a few times. “What?”

“When he was about to be killed, he screamed 'mommy'. She stopped, picked him up, and took him back to her cave.”

“Holy crap.”

Ereka nodded slightly. “Once Croggart made sure Groggot knew he was going for help, he ran for the Garrison. He got there 2 and a half days later, completely exhausted, and was promptly arrested.”

“For what?” Ren asked, and Ereka felt his immediate anger.

“Contributing to the death of another dwarf.”

“What about Groggot?”

“They sent out a squad of Warriors, led by a Knight.” Ereka said.

Ren felt her trepidation. “They didn't come back.”

“It was three weeks ago.” She said. “So, no.”

“And they won't risk anyone else.”

Ereka's eyes started to tear up. “I've been so worried, and Croggart called me to ask for your help, and you weren't here.”

Ren took her into another hug. “I'm sorry.” He said. “Please know that if I had been here I would have left immediately to go and help.”

“I... I know.” Ereka said. “You're a good man.”
