Mythran's Master Of All

Chapter 176 - On His Way To The Mines

Ren hadn't recovered all of the bolts, as some had gone out into the hallway, so he only had a limited amount of shots. He waited for the best opportunities, and only shot the giant spiders, and let Tee-one handle the 2 foot tall ones. Ren had dropped the fire brick somewhere, so he deactivated the enchantment and concentrated on keeping the multiple abilities going. The wood he'd set out was still burning, but not very well. He was barely getting any Mana recovered from it.

“I think we might have to retrea-” Ren tried to shout, and Teepo's words cut him off.

“There's no more big spiders coming down the hall, Ren!”

“Thank the gods!” Ren said as he shot the last bolt into a 5 foot tall spider, exploding it's body.

“There's still tons of little ones, though.” Tee-one said and swiped at several more.

“Let them come!” Ren said, and Tee-one backed up and over the barrier of dead spiders to let the small 2 foot tall spiders into the room. Ren took out his blacksmith hammer and repaired his armor, then used his Major Healing wand twice to heal his arm and fill his Health bar. He used the wand again to fill his Mana Pool, stored the Ballista, then took out a handful of steel squares.

“Teepo?” Ren asked, as he saw the mass of spiders crawling over the bodies of their fallen comrades, over the walls, and ceiling.

“They're pretty much all in the room now.” Teepo said. “Only a few dozen out here.”

“Tee-one!” Ren said and used his Elemental Grenade ability, and charged up the steel squares. It took a massive amount of Mana, nearly half of his Mana Pool, but he didn't care at this point. “Take cover!”

Tee-one jumped behind him, and Ren tossed the handful of glowing steel squares over the barrier and ducked behind his shield.

*BOOOOOOOOOM*

Every one of the grenades exploded at the same time. The force from the explosion shattered the steel, and they acted like shrapnel to send small shards in all directions. The metal bouncing off of the shield sounded like machine gun fire, there was so many shards. The barrage stopped a moment later, and Ren took the chance to peek. The spiders had been pulped into mulch, and the entire room was covered in their remains.

“You even got the ones in the hallway, Ren!” Teepo exclaimed, as he flew into the room. “A few of them got away, but we can hunt them down later.”

*BANG* *BANG* *scratch* *BANG* *scratch* *BANG* *BANG*

“They're heeeeere!” Teepo said, referring to the spiders from the cave, as they crawled over the reinforced wooden wall now mounted to the side of the Keep. Spider's legs jammed themselves into the viewing holes Ren had made all along the length of the wall, and tried to hit or grab him.

“Tee-one, are you up for...” Ren looked at him, and saw that Tee-one's legs hadn't been behind cover at all. Metal shards of all different sizes peppered the once smooth surface of his legs, and Ren winced as he felt Tee-one try to move.

“Sit still.” Ren said, and started to use Iron Grip to pull the shards out. The banging got louder, and there was a lot more scraping. “I can't get them all!” Ren said as his fingers couldn't get a hold on the tiny shards. He focused on the larger ones and got all of them removed.

“I hope this works.” Ren said, and used Repair on one of Tee-one's legs, pouring Mana into the hammer. The leg filled back in and slowly pushed the tiny shards out. “It's definitely taking longer when you don't remove the obstructions first.” He said, then repaired the other leg.

“What are we going to do now?” Tee-one asked, as he stood up completely repaired.

“The first thing I'm going to do, is get some payback.” Ren said, took out his hammerpick, and ran the entire length of the wall, smashing the spider legs that were trying to grab him through the viewing holes. The spiders screeched and fell away from the viewing holes, and left several dozen pairs of their severed limbs on the floor. More legs were shoved in, and Ren waited a minute, then ran the other way with the same result.

“They didn't like that one bit!” Teepo chittered in laughter as the banging eased down to nothing, and the scraping sounds went away.

“Thank the gods.” Ren said, and received a series of popups.
