Mythran's Master Of All

Chapter 138 - Time To Relax

Ren pushed himself a little harder than he should, and it drained his Stamina faster than he wanted. He had to slow down and let it recover, then ran at his normal pace again. The food he was feeding Princess was almost gone, and he warned her that she wouldn't make it if she kept running full out. She slowed down and ran beside him after that, and they made it back to House Neram around 2pm. He had 6 hours left of daylight to spend with Nathalia.

She's not going to be happy! Ren thought as he approached the gate. Golir, and a dwarf he didn't know, stood guard on either side of it. The new dwarf looked woefully inadequate standing next to Golir in full plate mail.

“Good afternoon, sir.” Golir said and saluted. Ren returned the salute and looked at the second guard. “This is Broxor.”

Ren held out a hand, and Broxor shook it after a moment of hesitation.

“Sorry for not meeting you sooner, but I've been busy.” Ren said. “You've been assigned a house, I assume?”

“Sir! Of course I have, sir. Thank you, sir!”

“At ease.” Ren chuckled. “We don't go all formal here, unless we're trying to impress visitors.”

“Yes, sir.”

Ren took out a set of armor and gave it to Broxor.

“But, sir... I haven't earned that, yet.”

Ren smiled. “I hope you won't have to 'earn' it; but I'd rather you have it, before anything happens.”

“Thank you, sir.” Broxor said and equipped it.

“I've got some swords and shields made, but I still have to forge them several times before they can be used.”

The guards nodded slightly.

“That won't happen today, as I promised the wife I'd spend it with her.”

Golir grinned and opened the gate. “You shouldn't keep her waiting then, sir.”

“Good day, gentlemen.” Ren said and led Princess into the courtyard. He took her to the small stable and set her crate in its proper position. She got in it and Ren put the last of the food he had in her bowl. He went inside the house and heard movement in the kitchen.

“Nathalia?” Ren heard a dish clatter and then running feet. He caught her as she leaped at him.

“You're back!” She said and hugged him tightly.

“I'm sorry I'm late.” Ren said. “I'd intended to leave during the night and be back here by morning, but...” He took a deep breath, and continued. “Lucy showed up before I could feed Elerlyth, they had a fight, then Lucy and I had a long talk.” He sighed. “After that, it took an hour or so before I could feed Elerlyth, then her ability leveled. I didn't finish feeding her until this morning.”

“You don't have to explain everything to me.” Nathalia said.

Ren kissed her lightly. “I'm not going to lie to you, Nathalia.” He said. “Either by distorting the truth or by not telling you something. I want to be honest with you, and I want you to know what's going on.”

“Okay.” She said and kissed him again. “What else?”

“I visited my blacksmith mentor, Donan. It didn't take long, and I paid a tithe to him. Then I went to Sally's Shop to visit her.”

“She's the one that taught you to sew clothes.” Nathalia said.

“Right. I showed her some of the things your father was working on.”

“That's what that was!” Narhilda said and came over to Ren and Nathalia. “10,000 Influence!” She shook her head. “I was so shocked, I nearly passed out!”

Ren opened his arms and hugged her, too.

“Luckily, I was right there to catch her.” Nathalia said. “We didn't know what was going on.”

“Sorry.” Ren said, and kissed both of them on the cheek in apology. “I had no idea that telling Sally about Lord Neram would do that.” He smiled. “I'd have warned you, at least.”

“It's okay.” Narhilda said. “You're doing great things for this House, and on your day off, too!”

Ren chuckled. “I picked up some things from Sally as well; but I promised to spend the day with Nathalia, and that's what I'm going to do.”

“You're down to only half the day, now.” Nathalia said, and smiled crookedly.

“Well...” Ren started, then winked at her. “...I don't have Adventurer's business tonight.”

Her eyes lit up and she grinned. “I won't have to sleep alone for a few hours while you're gone!”

Ren glanced at Narhilda. “You haven't been sleeping alone at all.” He said and chuckled.

She ran a hand through his hair. “That doesn't count, mister.”

He grinned. “Some people think it does.”

Narhilda snorted a laugh. “I know some of them. If they knew I'd spent the night in the same bed as my daughter and her fiance...” She shook her head. “...the scandal that would cause!”

“Even though all we did was sleep?” Nathalia asked.

“And cuddled.” Ren said. “You can't forget to mention the best part.”

“Oh, you!” Nathalia said and swatted him on the arm. “You just liked that you had 2 women in your bed!”

“Two beautiful women, that I love very much.” Ren said.

Both Nathalia and her mother Narhilda, blushed slightly at Ren's truthful statement.

“Now. What do you want to do, My Love?” Ren asked Nathalia. “I'm all yours.”

“Well... I was thinking...”

It started out with a cook-off, and it evolved into a bit of a food fight. At that point Narhilda got involved trying to stop them, and the three of them got quite messy. They laughed, carried on, and just had fun. After a while, they finished their dishes and Ren won handily with his creation of hamburgers and french fries. Of course, he had to teach them how to make it afterwards. They all cleaned up the kitchen and Ren and Nathalia went into the old bedroom. Ren drew out one of the patterns he got from Sally, that he slightly modified, and showed Nathalia one of the current styles of dress for royal wear. She admired it for it's simplicity and it's regalness, and Ren took out a bolt of fabric from the closet to made it for her.

“You're not supposed to work on your day off.” Nathalia said.

Ren put the bolt of cloth on the workbench and turned to her. “Making a hundred uniforms for the army is work.” He cupped the side of her face and kissed her gently. “Making you something pretty to wear...” Ren took her into a hug. “...that will hug you like my arms are hugging you...” Ren stared at her. “...that's not work. That's pure joy.”

“Oh, Ren.” Nathalia said and kissed him. They stayed that way for several minutes, and Ren broke the kiss. “You just have to decide on the color.”

“Surprise me.”

Ren chuckled. “Rainbow it is.”

“Ren!”

“What? That would be a surprise, wouldn't it?”

Nathalia shook her head. “Red, then.”

“Yes, My Love. Red it is.”

He cut the fabric easily and dyed it red, then cut out the pieces he needed. He assembled them and sewed them together, added the thick ribbon of lace around the waist and left that white, then added white trim around the bottom and the cut out for the cleavage. He made a huge ribbon bow for the back to attach to the waist, and then stood back.

“Ren! It's beautiful.”

“Can you try it on for me?”

“Of course.” Nathalia stored her father's dress and stood there in just her slip.

“Every time I see you like that, it still surprises me.”

“Why?” Nathalia asked, and looked down at herself.

“I told you before.” Ren said. “Have you looked in the mirror? You're amazing.”

Nathalia chuckled. “Ren, they're just boobs.”

Ren laughed. “You know I don't see them when I look at you; but they're amazing, too.”

“Then what?”

“You have a man looking at you in only a thin slip and small pair of underwear... and you're completely comfortable with it.”

She looked at him. “You're my fiance.”

“Even so.” Ren smiled. “You're not afraid to reveal yourself like this, when I know full well that most women usually hide as much of themselves as they can, under almost any circumstances.”

“Is that what it's like where you come from?”

Ren nodded. “Even looking at a woman for too long makes them think you're a creep.”

“That... must make it hard to find someone you like.”

He laughed. “Does it ever.”

Nathalia took the dress and equipped it. It shrank to fit her, and she stood still to look at it.

“Where's the mirror?” Ren asked.

“My room.”

Ren took her hand and led her to her room. He looked for the mirror and stood Nathalia in front of it.

“By the gods.” Nathalia said, as a regally dressed Lady faced her. “Who is that woman?”

“My Love, that's the woman I see when I look at you.”

Tears came to her eyes as she turned to Ren.

“Th-th-thank y-you!” Nathalia said and hugged him, crying onto his clothes because she didn't want to get anything on the new dress. When she calmed down, she turned back to the mirror. Ren walked out of her room and into the kitchen.

“Narhilda, you need to see this.” Ren said, and took her hand to lead her to Nathalia's room. Once inside, she gasped; Nathalia turned to her and smiled.

“You're so beautiful!” Narhilda said and started crying. “I'd hug you, but I don't want to ruin such a pretty dress!”

“Go ahead.” Ren said and held up the Master Tailor's Sewing Needle. “I can fix it.”

Narhilda ran to Nathalia and they started sobbing, hugging, commenting on the dress, and crying some more.

“You see? It's all rumpled and wrinkled.” Narhilda said as she finally let her daughter out of the hug. Ren walked over to them and touched the dress with the needle.

“Repair.”

The dress glowed for a moment and reformed into it's perfect state. Nathalia stored it and equipped her fancy green dress again.

“You can leave it on if you want.” Ren said. “It's made to wear. I adapted it from Sally's design to use Lord Neram's techniques.”

Narhilda stared at Ren. “You what?”

“I changed it so that it can be used as fluently as Lord Neram's clothing.”

“That... that shouldn't be possible.” Narhilda said. “His clothing was designed with his techniques. You shouldn't be able to...” She shook her head. “You're amazing, Ren.”

Ren smiled. “I've been hearing that a lot.”

Narhilda shook her head again. “Don't you understand? It shouldn't work for other clothes.” She said. “I knew you deserved the Tailor title, but this...” She waved at the dress that Nathalia had equipped again. “...even my husband couldn't do it!”
