Crashing into an Old Flame

The man named Elder Qin was stunned for a moment before he became emotional, ’’Old Master’s father took me in I was a homeless child. Louis smiled but the smile did not reach his eyes, ’’Elder Qin, do you think I was wrong all along? Was it all my fault?"

Elder Qin opened his mouth to speak but in the end, he did not say anything.

"Do you think I deserve to be left here all alone in the corner of some random hospital where my life is being treated like a commodity?"

Louis shook his head, ’’Everyone makes mistakes. Who can say that he is a saint that hasn’t once been wrong throughout his life? Why do I have to suffer?"

’’My father thought of me as a stain on our family so I left. My brother took over my position and before I left, I asked him for his help. A last help,’’ Louis looked at Elder Qin tearfully, ’’Do you know what it was?"

Elder Qin wiped the corner of his eyes as he shook his head.

"I begged him to help me find my son. That’s all I ever asked for. My Ah Xian was so young back then. How hard it must be for him to struggle to survive in this harsh world?" Louis clenched his fingers into fists, ’’But my very own little brother looked at me mockingly. He said that even if my son was alive, he would find it easier to breathe anywhere in this world than in the company of his father.’’

Elder Qin hesitated before he stretched his hand to rub the man’s back like he used to do when he was young, ’’It has been a long time. Even if young Master survived, it’s hard for us to find him out if he is not perfectly healthy after that incident.’’
