’’There is no point pretending anymore,’’ Veronica crossed her arms in front of her chest.

Diana shook her head at Mary. Mary patted her shoulder.

Diana’s face relaxed.
’’How embarrassing,’’ the women whispered to each other like birds chirping in the background.
Looking at the blank expression on her face, Mary patted her back, ’’A man who keeps a lady waiting is not a gentleman. No regrets over such people.’’
Diana nodded. No regrets indeed. As long as her sheep was not out of the bag, she had no regrets.
’’You even dressed up so much, only to end up being stood up on your date. Seeing that you are so pitiful, we can only force ourselves to join you and keep you company,’’ Veronica pushed her to the side and sat on the seat where Maxim had been sitting earlier.
Diana’s eyes widened as the rest of the people approached the table. Hey, hey, who wants you to keep me company? My company is under the table!!
