Chapter 136: Pounce on Maxim
’’My room? What room? Are you both still at my place?" Hazel gasped exaggeratedly.
Maxim was about to speak when a delicate hand held his forearm. He glanced at Diana, a little dazed.
She looked at him in concern, ’’Put the phone on speaker,’’ Diana was worried about Hazel. Wasn’t she about to get ready for her date? Why was she not around then? Was her date canceled?
Maxim nodded. Despite not having the utmost confidence in his mother that she won’t say something to murder his existence, he put the phone on speaker.
The woman’s sweet voice sounded again, ’’Why are you not answering?"
’’We are still here,’’ Maxim said.
’’How would I know you were showing Little Ana around my little villa for such a long time? I was in a hurry. When I came to my room, I realized that I had already packed my stuff. So after getting changed, I LOCKED THE MAIN DOOR and left. How would I know you both are still wandering around?"
Both Maxim and Diana picked up Hazel’s emphasis on ’I locked the main door’. They glanced at each other quietly.
’’I want to go back to open the door for you but Logan and I have come so far. We will miss our flight,’’ the woman said with a troubled voice, "If I wait for the next flight to Seattle, my date would be delayed. You see, it doesn’t leave a good impression on the other person."
Maxim’s lips thinned when he realized that there was no need for him to worry about his mom. Since she could dupe her son like this, it would be no big deal for her to tackle any man that came her way.
His gaze landed on Diana who was biting her bottom lips as if she was in contemplation about something.
