Chapter 101: How did you find us?
After leaving the bamboo forest, with the spine-like sword on his back and completely soaked, Kael returned to the mansion; there was still someone left who had to pay to leave everything behind.
And that person was Scarlett, the mother of Jasper, his beloved older brother.
Upon entering, with an indifferent expression, he wet the floor with as much blood as water droplets.
As he made his way through the lonely corridors, he got his bearings, thinking about where Jasper’s mother might be hiding. Since the mansion was so large, there were many places to search.
Kael went through several rooms, searching quickly, then through the main hall and other areas. However, Scarlett was nowhere to be found, not even a trace of her.
"She’s hiding pretty well..." he muttered calmly as he continued his search. He couldn’t leave that woman alive, as she would only cause him trouble in the future. He was also trying to figure out what was happening in the city.
Kael had planned to leave the mountain before getting caught in the blockade formed by the infiltrated members of the Lion Kingdom and the Holy Empire, who intended to kill all the citizens and members of the great families who were on Kiran Mountain at that time.
Their goal was to weaken the kingdom of Aragon as much as possible. Therefore, with the fall of the Medici clan, it would be a major blow to the kingdom, losing one of its great counts, who were a pillar of the kingdom.
Kael continued forward, letting his thoughts flow rapidly, discarding any idea that wasn’t effective enough for the current situation, which was escalating more and more.
Raindrops pounded against the window, and the darkness in the corridors grew deeper and deeper. Outside, in the garden, you could see several corpses, including silver wolves, lightning boars, and servants who had not been lucky enough to escape.
Kael, running at full speed, scanned the surroundings, seeing servants of both the Medici Clan and the great families, mutilated and on the verge of death, clinging to life like cockroaches.
He simply glanced at them and ignored their pleas for help as he searched the large mansion for his brother’s mother. And with that, he would finish closing this cycle.
