Chapter 63: Party
Two hours later.
Kael was sitting in a luxurious black leather and wood armchair. In front of him, a small table held two wines, one sweet and one sour, along with some bittersweet desserts and other delicacies.
He took a glass and poured some of the sweet wine. His gaze shifted to the woman in front of him, who had once been his fiancée and now appeared visibly nervous in his presence.
"What did you want to talk to me about?" His voice emerged calm, devoid of emotion, imbued only with indifference.
Evelyn, dressed in a black and purple dress that gave her a different, more mature and attractive air, tensed up. She had thought that when Kael mentioned meeting in two hours, it was a lie.
Who would want to find their fiancée in a loving embrace with their brother?
She pushed those thoughts away, and her eyes filled with a hatred that bordered on madness.
"I want to join you so I can get revenge on Jasper. That bastard got away with everything he did to me." Her voice dripped with venom as she uttered the name of the fourth young master of the Medici clan.
This is another example of the butterfly effect: two people who once loved each other are now enemies.
Kael felt expectant about the changes this twist might bring to the future.
"So, since your soul mate rejected you, now you seek revenge? Why should I help you? We no longer have any connection."
