Chapter 59: Betting deal
When he left the casino, it was already dark, and he realized that it was starting to fill up. The best hours for a casino are always at night.
And this being one of the best casinos in town, it naturally got a lot of visitors.
After exchanging chips for real money, Louis strangely found himself winning some money. It felt a little weird right now to win money that wasn’t coming from the system.
And more so because it was quite a lot.
On his way out, Louis felt the strange fluttering of a bird above him, and it soon landed on his shoulders.
’Oh? What’s this?’ he thought. He couldn’t remember ever training a little bird.
But then he felt as if information was being relayed to his head.
It was the voice of Dan, his uncle.
"The Lockwards have pulled strings under the table when they found out you were moving fiercely. They haven’t discovered our cooperation, but they want you dead. They are looking for you, and there is possibly a Lockward inside Velfast right now. Be careful, Young Sir."
After that message, the little bird disappeared as if it had never existed in the first place.
Only a feather remained, which fell into Louis’ hands.
