Chapter 388: News from the border
The Darkhaven family betrayed the kingdom. It was unexpected for a pillar to do that. The pillars are the major families that built the Kingdom of Draconia. Some of them were royal families of smaller kingdoms that gave up their control to be under Von Drakkar’s control.
Why did a powerful family like that betray the kingdom? Was Ivana just interested in money? Cedric sighed. Money was indeed the root of all evil.
He was in his command centre writing a letter to Lucian to take action. He trusted Lucian enough to handle that. He stamped the letter after he signed it before sealing it.
"This should be sent off immediately." He instructed Elias, handing over the letter to him. Elias accepted it. "What other orders do you have?"
"Have you investigated everyone tied to the Darkhaven family on the battlefield?" Cedric asked, and they had started taking actions to catch the snitch among the men. Cedric planned on gathering all the Darkhaven allies, interrogating them before they would be killed for treason. Everyone tied to the traitors would be exterminated, mothers and children no one was going to be spared.
"Yes, they have all been gathered, I instructed the men to be careful not to alarm them. We don’t want them alarming the Darkhaven family." Elias explained judiciously.
Cedric’s eyes narrowed. The letter was helpful, at least they had a lead now.
"Handle this with care," Cedric instructed Elias, who bowed, then turned to leave. He walked up to the door, "You know you can withdraw from the field. You are already injured and don’t have to push yourself too much."
Elias’s shoulders stiffened, "I will be fine," Elias answered. Cedric glanced away and he knew Elias was stubborn.
