Chapter 334: The protective maid
The room has a solemn mood, the curtains rustling lightly as the breeze blew in, whispering the song of spring. The weather was nice today; the sun was high in the blue sky, and clouds were moving slowly. It wasn’t going to rain anytime soon.
Abrielle didn’t know when last she had to admire things as simple as this. The aroma of the food in front of her waffled to her nose. Her eyes were watering when last she had such a good meal.
She didn’t wait for an invitation or anything else and dug in immediately. It tasted like heaven a stark difference from the sour soup and stale bread she had been eating for weeks
Everything melted in her mouth; she took her time to enjoy the food, munching it slowly to get every bit of flavour before swallowing.
She savoured the smallest things now. "You must have a great appetite. Please have some juice." Evelyn said, pouring a glass of fruit juice for the princess.
Abrielle nodded. She didn’t even have the time to drop her cutleries and just leaned towards the glass to take a sip. It tasted heavenly, she finally appreciated those lonely meals she had in the castle.
It might have felt lonely but she did have the best food. "Be careful, or you might choke," Evelyn warned, but it was too late. Abrielle turned to the side and started coughing.
"Pardon me." She cleared her throat.
"It’s fine, it must have been hard. The physician diagnosed you with extreme stress, exhaustion and malnutrition. You were too tired to wake up after working yourself out." Evelyn explained; Abrielle stopped eating, her mind trailing away.
