Chapter 259: Who else should it be given to
The chirping sound of birds filled the atmosphere mixed with the scent of blooming flowers. It was another spring morning.
Abrielle didn’t know when she fell asleep again last night, but the nightmare didn’t repeat. She was terrified at what she saw.
In her most vulnerable time, the one who caused her nightmares and terrorized her was oddly the one who gave her the warmth she never imagined he could give. She was curled up in his embrace, shivering slightly from the cold breeze that blew inside the room.
She already knew it was dawn but she didn’t want to leave this bed and face it all over again. She tried to block out the lights poking her eyes with his body.
It was cute and amusing how she kept on wiggling, finding a position to hide from the lights, but the sun was like. Wake up to reality another day in hell has arrived.
"Maybe if you let go for a bit, I can close the curtains," Cedric suggested, unable to watch her struggle in silence any more.
Her hold relaxed, and she moved away, rolling over to face the ceiling. "It’s fine, I should get ready for the day." She answered. Her appearance was not glorifying. Tear-stained face, red eyes and nose from crying all night.
Cedric sat up brushing his fingers through his hair. "My head is throbbing," he groaned. She glanced at him. "Will you be able to duel today?" She asked with a lingering concern at the tip of her tongue.
"I will be fine, just exhausted. Last night was a long night." Cedric replied, remembering the annoying ghoul situation he had to handle yesterday, then Abrielle. He hadn’t slept for two days now and he didn’t have anyone to blame for it.
