The Villianess story: A 100 ways to kill your husband

Chapter 253: The Wanderer

Abrielle stared blankly at the red rose; she slowly realized that he had never given it to Callista. Why did it give her a strange sense of solace?

The second day of the rose duel was a one-on-one duel between the contenders and ghouls. They were more dangerous than the monster arranged for the first event

Ghouls were ghosts who refused to pass on and ended up turning into bloodthirsty monsters that survived on terror and destruction.

The goal was to defeat the ghoul within the stipulated time to prevent casualties. If a participant was unable to finish off his match within the stipulated time, the match would be forced to stop and assistance would be given to defeat the ghoul immediately.

The rules were simple, it was a battle of survival.

The arena was alive with deafening cheers, the energy of the crowd lifted the atmosphere. Nobles and commoners both roared in excitement, their voices blending into an overwhelming wave of sound. Status didn’t matter here.

Trumpets blared, flags bearing the royal crest and several important families of the kingdom fluttered in the wind, and petals rained from above, thrown by enthusiastic spectators along with several roses. The scent of sweat, earth, and blood lingered in the air, mixing with the crisp freshness of spring.

On the battlefield, a knight stood victorious, his sword still gleaming with the remnants of his slain opponent, a ghoul that had met its end without so much as a struggle.
